Reiki is a complimentary healing technique that uses gentle touch by placing hands on or slightly off the body. The client remains fully clothed only the removal of shoes is required. It can also be sent distantly. It is safe, non-invasive and suitable for adults, children and animals and can be used alongside conventional medicine.

Reiki originated in Japan after being rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui (1865-1926), in the late 19th century.

Reiki is a Japanese word, Rei, meaning universal and Ki, meaning vital life force energy. It is believed that energy flows through all living things and when this energy is balanced it can help to maintain health and well-being.

During a Reiki treatment universal life energy is transferred through the hands of a practitioner to promote physical, emotional and spiritual healing. It aids relaxation and stress reduction, which in turn promotes healing. It is natural and intuitive bringing balance and harmony to the body’s energy.
